Hello everyone! Today’s post is going to be a little bit different than usual. Instead of talking about a game, I'll be going on and talking about where I get all my games from. A large majority of my games come from this application called steam. It’s pretty much this hub for pc gamers typically to get games. Although, games are not the only thing you’re able to get on steam.  You can get anything from a video game to a design and animation software.

Steam has over hundreds of games and all are at different price points. There’s a good majority of free games which is pretty cool because it gives you a chance to try out new games without the commitment to buying a game not knowing if you would really like it. What I've found is that some free games are like a dupe of a game you would have to buy. What I mean is that they are basically the same game, but character wise and name wise it’s different, because you know… copyright. A great example would be Overwatch and Paladins. Paladins is the free version of overwatch. Overwatch is like 1000 times better, but for someone who wants to try out the game first Paladins is where to start.

Now, let me get back on track. In the steam application, everything is sorted out in a pretty neat manner. It’s easy to find things and if you want to search for a specific game there’s a search bar you can use to do so.

The store layout looks like this:

All photos are screenshots I've taken within the app itself.

Everything is pretty self-explanatory. The drop-down menus at the top allow you to search for different types/ genres of games or different types of applications altogether.

A thing that really makes Steam pretty cool is there’s kind of this built-in forums. You can friend and chat other gamers just like you! Steam suggests threads and such about the games you’ve recently played to give you something you may be interested in. It’s really a great place to come together and meet other gamers.

Okay, the last thing I'll touch upon is your steam balance! This is pretty much the money you have to buy new games. The reason why I'm including this is you can put in money, but from playing games you can get achievements and items that you can actually sell to get more money for games. This kind of system pretty much encourages playing games which is a pretty cool marketing technique.

I could go on and on about steam and all of its cool features, but I think I’ll stop it here. We’ll save the rest for another post later on! I’ll see y’all on the next post!
